To estimate the number of people that can be accommodated:

Stand-up Party: allow 5 to 6 sq. ft. per person

Buffet Dinner: allow 7 to 8 ft. per person

Sit Down Dinner: allow 10 sq. ft. per person at round tables and 8 sq. ft. seated at long banquet tables.

Church Seating: 5 to 6 sq. ft. per person

For Example:

A 20’ x 20’ tent is 400 sq. ft. This is suitable for a stand up party of 400/5=80 people (approximately) per tent.

This same tent would hold a sit-down dinner 0f 400/10=40 people per tent

Note:

If you are going to have extra tables to display the presents or the wedding cake, please allow for this.

Also, if it is to be a buffet, allow an aisle at least 2-3 feet along the edge of the table for people to move along.
